Merry Christmas! Hope you are all enjoying the festive season. I’ve been busy crafting away, and I still have so much to do! I need the time between now and Christmas to slow down please.
This craft is an easy and quick one, and it includes using vintage! Even if its not one to do this year its one to keep in mind when browsing the charity stores.
I was browsing pinterest early November and saw how people had used old silver as holders for bottle brush trees, and I immediately fell in love. I loved the elegant and romantic victorian feel it had. I put it straight on my list to pick up some silver- it could be sugar pots, cream jugs, vases, anything that would look cool with a bottle brush tree. However we went into lockdown a few days later so I had to resort to Ebay, as I just couldn’t get the idea out of my mind. I was able to get these four Art Deco silver epns vases for £12, and I really liked how the heights and sizes differed, meaning I could stagger them in a display.
I already had the bottle brush trees (I probably have 100+, don’t judge me). Then it was just the very simple, but effective task, of adding a little decoration to the vases and the trees. I used ribbon, jute, crystal chain, old jewellery and gold berries that I cut the sticks off. Theres really no rules for this at all, it’s just a case of trying things and seeing what works with the colours. I guess this post wasn’t a really how to, but more of an inspiration post! Let me know if this is something you would try
Much Love
